Your research is finished and you know it’s time to make a decision. The first step can be the hardest step if you are dealing with an elderly loved one, spouse, or friend that does not want help, does not want to pay for help, or just wants a family member (or you!) to help. Here are some ideas that can ease your mind.
Step One
We provide a free no obligation visit to the home, hospital, retirement home, or wherever the person who needs the help is currently residing. You can meet privately with us in the office, schedule a home visit, or schedule a family conference. The important thing to know is that our intake specialist can talk face to face with the person who needs the service. We recommend that a family member or trusted friend should be in attendance during this first visit.
Visits take about an hour. Our intake specialist, asks the person needing assistance, what daily activities they need the most help with. The intake specialist then asks what duties the family is presently doing that a caregiver could do to free up more time. A preliminary schedule is determined based on the level of care needed and the tasks determined to be performed. We have some clients who just need companionship and transportation with light housekeeping and others who need total care, 24 hours a day. The client makes the decision. We also look to see if there are any state or federal senior benefits that can defray the cost of care.
Step Two
The potential client has two choices when hiring a caregiver. They can select or interview to hire their own helper, or hire from our agency caregivers who are employees of the agency and are licensed and bonded. A compatibility match is completed for both options. You have choice, selection, and can change the care plan as the needs change.
Step Three
The service starts once a caregiver team is selected. There might be one caregiver selected with a back up substitute, or a team of four if 24 hour care is needed. Remember satisfaction is guaranteed.
