 As the number of older Americans continues to grow, an increasing number of families are turning to a specialized group of professionals known as Geriatric Care Managers. Care Managers assist families in their efforts to care for older loved ones, while encouraging as much independence as possible. Nancy Verhei, GCM, designed the Elder Options Community Resource Center to assist both seniors and their families in finding accurate information and guidance. Elder Options is a community-based, private agency that refers to both private-sector services and government-sponsored senior services in a first-of-a-kind effort to provide one-stop service to the busy consumer. All proceeds from the services offered support the free information center filled with brochures, books, videos, free literature, and a complimentary
consultation. Assessments and care plans can be scheduled by calling 636-1000.
